Weekend Good Eats!

I know that I'm late on doing a weekend recap post but I just had to mention some really great restaurants that I tried this past weeked. My motto during the week is to eat healthy and at home...and splurge just a bit on the weekends. Lately I'm become much more adventurous with foods. On Friday, I met up with one of my girlfriends at the Korean grill Honey Pig. This place was amazing...and the service was unparalled. They have a little buttton at the table that you press when you need something and the wait staff comes running! It was gorgeously decorated with modern Asian flair. The inverted table top wok where the food is prepared in front of you was awe inspiring. Here's what we had...curried pork and bulgogi grilled with sprouts, onions, mushrooms and kimchi. The table was filled with various toppings like lettuce, green onion, sauces, etc. And the meal was served with two types of soup. Afterwards, the waiter made fried rice with whatever was left. He even threw in octopus!

On Saturday, I met another friend at Haru Ichiban. The menu consists of sushi and sashimi, Japanese small plates, and comfort foods. This was the first time in a while that I've eaten at a Japanese restaurant that didn't do hibachi at the table. But once I tasted my grilled slamon dish with soy butter...it didn't matter. It was pure heaven on a plate.

Then on Sunday, I grilled korean bbq, served with a black bean and cucumber, salad, and grilled onions.
