A couple of rainbows....

Blogging has taken the back burner to life. But what better way to re-enter the blog world than to share the most spectacular day of my life...my wedding day. Instead of trying to find the words to describe the absolute best time of my life, I will opt to share photos of our destination wedding to the Bahamas. In describing our week spent there, several words come to mind: peace, tranquility, reflection, gratitude, decadence, renewal, and most of all love. I could not have been more blessed to be able to share such a special time in my life with the man of my dreams in a more breath taking place. We are so thankful to have gotten away from the hustle and bustle and spent some time in paradise. It was no surprise that we would meet some amazing people that we now consider friends. I hope you enjoy the photos. Thanks to all who made our wedding such a wonderful experience!
One of the local fishermen gave us the rundown on conch fishing. I think we tried it almost every way possible, cracked, scorched, and in fritters. My favorite fritters were eaten at Port Lucaya at Cafe Breeze. The lobster salad here was the best I've ever had. Next time, we'll try the conch ceviche.
The best lobster I've ever eaten in life was from Ella's, a local and legendary eatery. There is no way to describe the way the lobster seemed to melt in your mouth. To the owner's we'd become regulars :)
Speaking of food, the coconut french toast at our resort was heavenly. The secret must be in the Bahamian Bimini Bread.
The enfamous Bahamian curly tailed lizard that I'd surprisingly gotten used to.
This was our photographer Pamela. She was so fun to work with and her creativity showed in her work. She even makes jewelry.
Our after wedding dinner at the Pink Pearl Restaurant. I had the snapper, rice and peas, macaroni pie, and salad. For an appetizer, we had the conch fritters.
One of my favorite photos of us under a beautiful sea grape tree.
Without a doubt the best wedding planner ever, Janet. Check out her company And the Two Became One here if you're looking for an unforgettable destination wedding in the Bahamas.
One of many special touches that made our wedding extra special, my handmade bouquet filled with sentimental brooches. It felt incredible to make myself. A few of the other touches being a couple of parallel rainbows that appeared throughout our ceremony, and the manta ray that decided to glide along the shore at sunset with us as we strolled along the beach after the ceremony.
The Bahamas will always hold a special place in our hearts. We will undoubtedly return to our little place in paradise one day soon.
