The Weekend in Review

This weekend was a much needed change of pace. One of my friends trusted me to give her a hair cut and it turned out perfectly. Then we had a night out, hitting a few spots, having a great time, and way too many mojitos. On Saturday I went out with three friends to dim sum. There was so much to see and eat! Here are some of my favs.

One of my friends who is Vietnamese knows how much I like Korean bbq so she was sweet enough to bring me some marinade that I used on Sunday. After marinating overnight, the bbq beef that I grilled was very tasty. She also brought me creme puffs from this amazing bakery she frequents. Such a wonderful treat and my new favorite sweets.

Then I was off to do the make up for a fashion show or so I thought. It turned out to be so bootlegged that I actaully left. The person who hired me was over an hour late and didn't even call. I called them to ask about setting up and starting on the models and his response was to wait on him. The kicker is that I had cancelled another engagement to get there at 7pm and when I was asked to come earlier at 5pm I agreed to that. Only to sit and wait. People are crazy! Total disregarded the models' and my time. Well that was the low point of my weekend.

The high points involved you guessed it...shopping! Here are some of the things I got. I am so in love with all things gunmetal so I found some gunmetal bracelets and a jacket at Arden B. I also got a belt and from Sephora the Fresh Cannabis Rose shower gel and Shisheido facial cotton pads that Fuz talks about. I have to admit they beat cotton balls anyday for removing your makeup. I'm sold on them. And the shower gel has this amazing scent. I felt so refreshed and clean after my shower. The other day I picked up another great body wash and lotion from Ulta, the Japanese Cherry set. Both are very creamy and feel and smell great. Lastly, I got a lipstick from MAC in the shade Taupe. It's the perfect lip colored lipstick...at least for me. I didn't want ot go crazy since the Beauty Clique will be attending the release event for the Make Up Art Collection at MAC on Tuesday. I already have my list of items I want to buy.






And to my delight my DSK jewelry arrived today. Steph was really fast with the order and she even custom made my necklace to match my earrings upon request. She's the best. She even sent me a tasty watermelon pop ring. I love my new pieces so much!
