Southernly Eclectic: Yesterday...My Birthday

Yesterday I took the day off to celebrate my birthday. It was nice to take a break and focus on myself. I started the day off by stopping by a make up/theatrical shop to pick up a few Ben Nye powders and lashes. When I arrived, the salesperson was not in sight so I began to pick out the shades I needed. Another customer entered the store as I looked up, it was Cee-Lo standing there in front of me. We spoke and he proceeded to shop, as I tried to play it cool and get the rest of my items. So much for excitement. My next stop was the MAC store. I really went in to pick up some eyeliner pens but they were out, so I ended up getting a few brushes, a lip gloss, and the scent Pinkaura, which smells so good. After treating myself to a few shirts from Forever XXI, I was off to the salon to be pampered. By that time, I had gotten word that a family member had to be hospitalized. So I headed to my mom’s to wait for her to return from the hospital. The family had a party planned for me…cake, flowers, gifts, money, and the whole deal, but we made it a short affair. I opened gifts and headed home after getting an update on the family member’s condition, and had a late dinner out. I felt very blessed to have family and friends think of me in such a nice way on my birthday and fortunate to have received such nice gifts. I was even more surprised to receive another cake and more presents later that night. All in all my b day was quite nice in the midst of everything going on. I also received an order I placed only two days ago from Aveda. The shipping was free so I didn’t expect it so soon. I ordered the Brilliant hair spray, which I have been a loyal user of for years, and the Dry Remedy Moisturizing Treatment Masque. Along with it came a free sample of the same conditioner.
