Wedding Touch Up Kits

If you'd wondered why I haven't blogged in a bit...the truth is that I have been swamped with other things on my plate...like work, having weddings for the past two weekends, trying to get caught with writing (dissertation woes), and everything else. Today, the house is gettng cleaned (hurray for my housekeeper) and I am planning a relaxing evening at home. Although I had no part in the planning (guess that's why I am so curious as to how it will turn out) there is a professional cook coming over to cook dinner and show how to prepare healthy food with minimal items. From what I hear she even makes a flourless cake.

Anyway, I wanted to share my new and improved wedding touch up kits that I give to brides and the bridal party for use during the reception. It usually really comes in handy for the bride who has forgotten her "something blue" because the MAC blotting tissue that is included is blue. This saved the day for my bride on yesterday. It was a cuban wedding with lots of family members and excitement. So much that some of the items didn't make it to the wedding. So it was nice to remedy some of the issues that arose with something as simple as blot tissue. The essentials of the kit include blot tissue, kleenex, a lip glos applicator, a sample of lipstick or gloss in a tiny container (I order these from Coastal Scents), a business card, and a mint. I use to put these items in these cute little ziploc bags from IKEA, but I upgraded to the little organza like bags that I got from Party City. They cost around $6 for a pack of 12. Unfortunately, they were limited on color...pink was the only choice. It worked out for yesterday because the colors were brown and pink. Anyway, here's what they looked like.
