Raw Minerals Product Review

We all know that mineral make up is supposed to be good for your skin. However, with so many brands out there, it can be hard to decide which one to choose. I came across Raw Minerals, a paraben-free line. What struck me about their products is that according to their website, the Raw Minerals products are described as having eight benefits. They are high performance, have natural active botanicals, feel like silk on your skin (this is definitely true), are long lasting, help reduce the visible signs of aging, are formulated for safety, dermatologist and sensitivity tested, and ideal for all skin types. With all these benefits, I had to order them.

The Discovery Kit comes with two Mineral Foundations, a Mineral Glow (for a sun kissed look), and the Active Veil SPF 18. You also get a foundation brush, concealer brush, multi-tasking retractable brush, and a “how to” DVD and booklet. The shades of my foundations are Medium 1 and Medium 3. The Active Veil can be applied after the foundation and mineral glow as a last step, or before the foundation as a primer.

The foundation ingredients include Bismuth Oxychloride, Mica, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Kaolin, Pisum Sativum (Pea) Extract Silica, Dimethicone Hydrated Silica, Ribose, and Glycine Soja (Soybean) Germ Extract. It says it may contain Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides.


The Active Veil Sunscreen SPF 18 contains Mica, Calcium Silicate, Pisum Sativum (Pea) Extract, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethicone Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Silica, Hydrated Silica, Ribose, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Germ Extract, and Iron Oxides.

The Mineral Glow ingredients include Mica, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Kaolin, Pisum Sativum (Pea) Extract Silica, Dimethicone Hydrated Silica, Ribose, and Glycine Soja (Soybean) Germ Extract. It says it may contain Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides.

From what I can tell after trying the products on my hand, they have a very silky feel and are lightweight. The foundation colors blend right in and since one is slightly darker, they can be mixed to give a more flawless look. I really love the Mineral Glow. The shade is Warm Glow. It has tiny bits of gold in it that disappear right into the skin. And most of all, aside from the products having natural botanicals in them, I love the fact that the more you use them, the better your skin becomes. By the way, the brushes are extremely soft and a great quality.
