Savannah Trip

So I was reading yesterday that President Obama will be visiting one of my favorite spots on tomorrow and also the city I recently visited (but forgot to post about). So I thought better late then never. Apparently, President Obama will visit Savannah, GA as a part of his “White House to Main Street Tour” on March 2nd. His main focus will be on jobs and economic recovery. I thought it was very cool and uplifting to find out that he will visit local leaders, small business owners, and workers to learn about the economic struggles they face and to listen to their ideas about how “to grow the economy". Everyone likes to be heard...and to have the President listen would be super exciting. I look forward to seeing how the visit went and what places he stopped by while there.
Well, back to my post. I recently went these for a conference and also found the time to unwind and take in a bit of the city at night when I was out of my sessions. Luckily for me the bf was able to take a break from his job and join me. It was the weekend before V-Day, which made our mini vacay all the more special. Here's a view from the hotel.

It actually snowed the last night there...making finding a dinner spot tricky since everything was closing early. Our usual spot, The River House, closed early so we headed over to another restaurant on River Street, Fiddler's Crab House. Here's what we had.

The crab dip was by far the best I've had! The bf thought the crabcakes were just okay. Andd my dish, the Oglethorpe's Fillet, was pretty tasty. I am not a fan of grouper and it was heavy on the mushrooms :( so I left about half of the fish there...just ate mostly the crab topping and potatoes.

Although it was a fun little trip...it was also nice to get back to celebrate Valentine's Day, which happened to be the best one I've had. Here are the roses I got...which were really pretty because of the two tones.

Until next time...

Wow great trip, and the food looks good too! I lived in Chicago for 3 years, and during election period the entire city was really gripped by Obama-mania! It was such a sight, I don't think I'll ever forget it!
