Yesterday, I went to Walmart (not really intending to buy anything) and ended up getting a few hair products that I tried and wanted to share with you. I already had the TRESemme Smooth & Silky Shampoo but my sis was telling me about the TRESemme Smooth Conditioner, Smooth & Silky so I got some. The bottle is huge and it only costs a little over $3. Next since I've really never been into heat protectants and was curious about them I got the TRESemme Heat Tamer Spray. I washed my hair last night, let it air dry and used my FHI iron this morning. I found both these products to be a great buy and worked really well on my hair. The conditioner reminds me of my Dominican rinses, very hydrating and the smell was great...actually both the conditioner and heat spray smell really good. I noticed on the bottle it contains vitamin h, which is biotin, and silk proteins so I knew it would strengthen my hair. After my hair was dry, I sectioned it off and sprayed from mid length my hair to the ends, then used my FHI. My hair turned out very shiny, soft, and nicely scented. And keeping with my cruelty-free theme, it's not tested on animals. :) Here are the ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Stearyl Alcohol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Dimethicone, Cyclohexasiloxane, Aspartic Acid, Quatermium-18, Fragrance (Parfum), DMDM Hydantoin, Isostearamidopropyl Ethyldimonium Ethosulfate, Citric Acid, PEG-9, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Limonene, Disodium EDTA, Amyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Biotin, Polysorbate 20, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed Silk, Ascorbic Acid, Hydrolyzed Wheat Starch, Niacinamide, Soluble Collagen, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol.

Here's the Heat Tamer Spray
My main fear of heat protectant sprays is that they will weigh my hair down and make it sticky. So I was pleasantly suprised when it did neither. The cost was under $3, making it yet another great deal. I do find the design of the bottle a little weird. I dropped it last night and it took me nearly half an hour to figure out how to fix the little pump gadget. Here are the ingredients:
Water (Aqua); Glycerin; Amodimethicone; PEG-12 Dimethicone; PVP; Propylene Glycol; Hydrolyzed Silk; Tocopheryl Acetate; Niacinamide; Biotin; Panthenol; Ascorbic Acid; Polysorbate 20; Cetrimonium Chloride; Trideceth-12; Cetylpyridinium Chloride; Benzophenone-4; Triethanolamine; Disodium EDTA; DMDM Hydantoin; Alpha Isomethyl Ionone; Benzyl Benzoate; Butylphenyl Methyl Propional; Citronellol; Geraniol; Hexyl Cinnamal; Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde; Limonene; Linalool; Fragrance (Parfum)
Just wondering, since I am new to them, what type of heat protectant sprays do you use?

Here's what one section looked like after using my ceramic iron and the heat spray

This is the bottom half of my hair.

This is the top half of my hair. If you notice, it's lighter than the bottom half. This is because I part my hair from ear to ear when I color it and only do the top half. Don't ask me why :)

A view from the back.

I recently got the MAC Fix+ Rose Spray for myself. I use the regular type in my kit. I use it as a spritzer, to set my make up, and to dampen my brushes before use...love the rose scent. Hence, the DejaRose perfume. It's a yummy blend of peony, lily, amber, patchouli, pink pepper, green notes, raspberry, jasmine, orchid and rose. Great for the summer!

Before I went to Walmart, I stopped at Petsmart to look for some things for my little Louis (my cocker spaniel). He's been scratching lately and since he doesn't have fleas. I was told he may have allergies. I actually got the BIO-GROOM Lido-Med Medicated Anti-Itch Dog Spray a couple of days ago at a dog spa/store and it really worked. For those of you with dogs or cats who may be suffering from itchy skin this summer give it a try. It's a clinically developed topical antiseptic cooling spray that is guaranteed not to sting..good for fast relief for minor skin problems such as flea bites, and allergic dermatitis. It contains: Lidocaine HCL, Benzethonium Chloride, Allantoin, Denatonium Benzoate, Aloe Vera and Lanolin.
Laslty, I got him a toothbrush and toothpaste set and a natural flea and tick squeeze on protectant to use every 4-5 months. Apparently, the vet recommends brushing your dog's teeth twice weekly.

After being forced to eat his monthly heart worm pill, getting his teeth brushed, and surviving a strong smelling herbal flea squeeze on concoction, he's eating his dinner with one eye on me...wondering what the heck I will be up to next.
