I have been on blogger’s hiatus for a bit...but I’m back. My trip to Savannah was so relaxing. I got caught up on some needed rest, attended an exciting conference on cross-cultural issues, and had some terrific seafood. Now I am back to work.
On Saturday, I did the make up for a wedding. My call time was 10:30am and it was a full day as I left after 7pm. I did make up for 11 ladies (the bride, 6 bridesmaids, 1 maid of honor, 1 grooms maid, and the mothers of the bride and groom). This was my second largest wedding and all were airbrushed. Luckily, I brought along my trusted assistant to help with pretty much everything she could help with. Having her there to assist and lend moral support was just what I needed.
The colors were orange and gold…so I used earth tones on all the ladies. For the bride, I used all MAC products, along with a few items like some Coastal Scents neutral e/s and one of their blushes. The key feature of her eyes was the red brick e/s from MAC, which was muted down a bit with the neutral e/s. On her lips, I used MAC Fetish with clear lipglass. Her make up remained flawless throughout the whole event and touch ups were minimal. On Friday, I received my order from Coastal Scents, their 26 Shadow Blush Combo Palette. Here’s a pic. I highly recommend it. It has very pigmented colors from nearly nude, to browns, taupes, peaches, pinks, rose, and rich deep plums. I used this palette solely on the bridal party and moms.
All and all everyone was happy and I was able to network with an event planner who said she wants to work together in the future. Hopefully I will get to post some of the professional shots later, but here’s a peek at some of the ladies before and after pics and a short clip of the bride

I recovered on Sunday with a trip to the spa. I spent close to three hours enjoying a massage, facial, and pedi. Everyone was so helpful and thorough that I will definitely not wait so long to go back again. I decided to put together a list of must do’s no matter how tired I am to do in order to maintain the overall health of my skin and decrease stress. For the time being giving up sodas and getting more sleep seem to be the more difficult ones to tackle. So here are the areas I can definitely improve on. If you have any tips for beauty and wellness, please leave your comments. Thanks.
1. schedule an appointment with the chiropractor to work out my back issues
2. drink more water
3. religiously use my eye cream, spf, and exfoliate every few days
4. steam my face weekly
5. as a refresher, use cucumbers slices on my eyes regularly to avoid puffiness and dark circles
6. apply moisturizer to my feet and socks prior to going to bed every night
I hope that everyone has a great week. I have a bridal consultation on Tuesday and another wedding next weekend, so I need to come up with some looks!
