A few weekends ago, I did a shoot for a salon here in town. The owner wanted some natural looks to help accentuate the hairstyles. The images are being used to help promote the salon, which is having a special for V-Day. I haven’t gotten back the individual images yet, but here is the ad. The special looks appealing…on V-Day, after having your hair done you get a free portrait taken by the pro photographer that I worked with. Who doesn’t want their picture taken after you’ve just gotten your hair done? And to do this on V-Day is extra special because you can give the picture to your boo!
So in my effort to be more green I decided to try a range of different types of products from Aubrey Organics has been around since 1967 and sells certified organic, all natural products.
Here’s what I got.

The White Camellia and Jasmine Shine Conditioner Spray Spray-on formula doubles as a conditioner and styling spray for dry, lifeless hair. Use after and in-between shampoos to add softness and manageability with herbal gums and vitamin B-5.
Ingredients/What They Do
White Camellia & Organic Aloe Replenish lost moisture; soothes dry hair & scalp
Gum Arabic, Gum Tragacanth & Vitamin B-5 Hair thickeners; adds body & hold
Ginkgo & Ginseng; nourishes & fortifies
This vegan product contains: Water, Witch Hazel, Organic Aloe Vera, Vegetable Glycerin, Panthenol (Vitamin B-5), Gum Arabic, Gum Tragacanth, White Camellia Oil, Ginkgo Leaf, Ginseng Root, Magnolia Blossom, Angelica and Chrysanthemum Extracts, Jasmine Oil, Aubrey's Preservative (Citrus Seed Extract, Vitamins A, C and E).
I will be taking this with me to the salon this weekend!

The rest of the products that I purchased are for my dog Louis. He’ a 2 ½ year old Cocker Spaniel. I try to use natural products on him to cut down on any irritations and itchy skin.
For him I got the Organimals Dip & Creme Rinse Concentrate for Dogs. It’s made without synthetic pesticides that can harm your dog's health, this all-natural dip and cream rinse helps keep fleas and other pests away with pennyroyal, a natural insect deterrent. Aubrey's nourishing cream base is combined with skin-calming herbal extracts and essential oils in this special formula that soothes a dog's sensitive skin and leaves his/her coat soft, shiny and clean-smelling.
And also the Organimals Grooming Spray for Dogs. I love the smell of this stuff…it reminds you of a fresh, clean linen or powdery smell. It’s designed to as a soothing spray softens and deodorizes your dog's coat and helps keep it pest- and odor-free without chemicals of any kind.
Louis hates to be sprayed with anything so this is him trying to rub it off.

Lastly, because I ran out of my Mrs. Meyer’s Geranium Counter Spray (which smells better than a fresh bunch of flowers) I got the Liquid Sparkle Natural Spray Cleanser. I will be cleaning up a bit this weekend and will give it a try. This hard-working spray cleanser is especially designed for glass, tile and counter tops. Unique formula combines coconut and quillaya soaps and herbal oils in a natural grain alcohol base to cleanse and disinfect.

I couldn’t resist getting a few more MAC items that I’ve been wanting. I am definitely going to cut back on the purchases though. I needed a few more lip pencils (Quartz and Stripdown), eyeliner (Rapidblack), a concealer brush (#194), another brush belt because mine is too small, and some lip conditioner to counter client’s dry lips.

Lastly, I purchased a pair of over the door shoe organizers. I plan to post what I do with these in the next couple of days. You know how it is when you get an idea for organizing and you just have to give it a try. Until next time, have a great weekend.
